Maternal Ancestry Tests (25 generations) – Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) is the passed from your mother’s side. Whether you are male or female, you receive mitochondrial DNA from your unbroken maternal line. This pattern of inheritance provides a direct line that can be traced back tens of thousands of years.
Paternal Ancestry Test (25 generations) – “Y” Chromosome DNA (Y-DNA) is unique and only passed on from paternal side, from father to son. Due to this pattern of inheritance, only males can participate in this test. However, if you are a woman and curious as to your paternal heritage, all you need is have a male (father, brother, grandfather), from your direct bloodline submit a DNA sample.
Autosomal Ancestry Test (5 generations) – The Autosomal DNA test reveal close family connections withing 5 generations. The tests highlight the DNA association of maternal and paternal connections via a saliva sample or a cheek swab.
